Dirt
And to think every crumb of dirt came from a giant rock. I love the feeling of dirt in my hands. I love the smell of fresh soil. It holds the potential of so much growth. It covers this Earth in 16,000 different classifications. I think it's beautiful!

Earth Hour!
I really enjoyed my time in the 'dark' this year. I think I'm going to incorporate this into a weekly thing. It's nice to work by candlelight and not depend upon electricity for a little while. My time was spent trying to solve that darn Rubik's Cube...

Determination
Today I spent about an hour looking at, working on, and ultimately feeling stumped by the ever-famous Rubik's Cube. I got pretty close today, one full side and 2/3rds of 4 of
the other 5 sides. I scrambled it all up to motivate myself to do it once and for all! I am looking forward to posting the complete cube soon!

Soul Horkey
Simply put, the Soul Horkey from Trinity Brewing Company is the best beer I've ever had. It's delicious, vegan, local, and brewed by happy people! Below is Trinity's 64 oz Growler, which is a refillable bottle that at this moment is full of delicious stuff.
Description:
"...simple, yet complex. This ale showcases malts of caramel and chocolates."
and the wonderful quote that is posted with this beer both on the menu and website is:
"The inner life force of all beings, the I AM, that WAS before and always will BE, watching, from the seat of the soul, this mind and this body."
www.trinitybrew.com
Check it out if you're in the Springs. It's off of Garden of the Gods Road and Centennial. Great food, fun atmosphere, Great Beer.

The Forgotten Penny
This photo was a blessing to find today. I didn't know it until about 2 minutes ago when I looked at it again to see what I could learn from it. This penny was in a fountain near my job. All of the money inside these now empty fountains, is donated to local charities. These have been empty for months now, except for the occasional snow. However, this green penny, weather worn from rain and snow, has remained here, forgotten and left to stay. I'm reminded of how many times we do something either for the heck of it or for an important cause and it goes forgotten. The intention of this penny we will never know. It may have been a little kid wanting to throw something in the water, a business person not wanting change in their pockets, or who knows it may have been somebody making a wish, or someone who saw the donation sign and wanted to be in the flow of giving and receiving. We just never know where our energy will go and where it will end up, somebody could receive it, or it may stay aging at the bottom of a pool. Either way, I was given a great reminder by this little penny: I can't control the outcome of what I try to do, but If I do it anyway, it may do even greater things that had nothing to do with what I had originally planned.
Wow, that's a lot or words all about a penny. Fun Fact: Today the 'Cent' is 97.5% Zinc with a 2.5% Copper Plating, Lincoln has been on the penny since 1909, and this year there will be four different backs to the penny, so be looking for those.
Namaste.

Spring Roll
I'm hoping that 'spring is rolling out' soon. I guess we're almost to that time of year! I love all of the new light from Daylight Savings Time, it's nice to have more light at night. Anyway, dinner tonight was spring rolls and a vegetable stir fry over rice noodles with a Peanut Sauce.

What's Up Life
We were in Downtown Denver today just for fun and I saw this homeless guy with a sign that said: "What's Up Life."(You may be able to see it if you enlarge) I took a quick picture as we drove by. I thought this one was a little more thought provoking than the other one we saw that read: "A Ninja Beat up my Ex-Girlfriend and I need Money for a Thank You Card." I'm not sure if that counts for sense of humor or dire need of anger management. You can decide.

Cat Grass
I planted some Cat Grass for Spoofer a few days ago. We're trying to get her to eat that instead of our plants; It would be one thing if she ate them, but she just kind of bites at them and makes a mess. I love that silly cat. This morning there were tiny little drops of dew on the tips. She has started eating them so I guess it's working (Insert Smile and sense of accomplishment here).

Let it Snow!
The weather was awesome today. It started out sunny and moderately warm, slowly a Maine like fog rolled in blanketing the mountains and hiding them in a thick gray mist. This was followed by flurries and then a heavy snow. Halfway through the afternoon while the snow was still falling, the sun came through and produced some amazing light and light shows on the gloomy looking mountains. It was spectacular! (Not sure if I've ever used that word...)

pizza pizza
Most people enjoy a good pizza. I know I do. Tonight I made a pizza topped with portobello mushrooms, onions, olives, and artichoke hearts. Simple, delicious.
Some pizza info:
The largest pizza ever made was 37.4 meters in diameter, that's 122.7 feet for those of us who aren't metric. Italy has restrictions on using the phrase 'Traditional Italian Pizza' in advertising, which includes strict guidelines of the ingredients used containing no less than the minimum and nothing above and beyond what is considered 'traditional.' This guideline has been recognized by the European Union since 1990.

Creation
I love Art. It doesn't really matter what it is. That being said, there are many many different types of art, some which are more appealing and satisfying than others. Abbey recently finished a painting that I love, and I was inspired to take a picture of just a portion of her work. Thanks for letting me take the picture Ab!

Miracles
I think that plants are one of the great mysteries and miracles in the world. Giant Sequoia Trees all start from a tiny little seed. Also, most anyone can successfully grow a plant, with a simple TLC you can have a beautiful, living, breathing organism in your presence. Tonight Abbey and I replanted several plants, one being a tiny little Bonsai tree, the picture is of Abbey holding it. So next time you see a plant, remember that it came from a tiny little seed which came from another seed about 10000 years ago.

Blodgett Peak
Today Abbey and I hiked Blodgett Peak in Colorado Springs. Elevation is 9,423 feet. It was a beautiful day and a really nice hike. The trails were really undefined and are often have the same look as the deer and sheep trails. I got to do a little bouldering as well, Ab took a picture. This picture shows the topography of Colorado Springs, which I've never noticed while being on the 'flat land.'
