Test Shot

This was actually a test shot that I took for one of my lenses. There is a slight malfunction in the autofocus and certain focal lengths. I sent it into Nikon for Warranty Repair shortly after taking this shot, I like it :)

moral dilema

I watched snow falling off the top of buildings and debated about whether or not to wait for people to walk underneath, decided otherwise, I dind't want to be the jerk waiting for misfortunes to happen to other people....lol

Hail

So we're apparently supposed to get another 'Blizzard' in the next 36 hours. I'm not totally convinced because they said that last time and we only got a few inches. I hope they're right because I love snow and think it would be wonderful to have a foot of it, but I'm not holding my breath. Today I watched an interesting hail storm and took a few pictures. One is an empty parking lot with hail scattered on the ground, the other is a picture attempting to 'catch' the action of the snow. I hope to tell you tomorrow we have a foot of snow!

Spring Snow

Today I awoke to nearly 4 inches of extremely fluffy snow! I had never seen snow on Easter before so that was pretty cool. The snowflakes were giant clusters of snow gently falling to the ground.

Spring Break = Snow

So it's Spring now, and it's snowing! I took this shot out of focus and through my windshield to give it an old time nostalgic feeling without being in Black and White. I was trying
to use those techniques as 'filters'. It turned out pretty good I thought.

Let it Snow!

The weather was awesome today. It started out sunny and moderately warm, slowly a Maine like fog rolled in blanketing the mountains and hiding them in a thick gray mist. This was followed by flurries and then a heavy snow. Halfway through the afternoon while the snow was still falling, the sun came through and produced some amazing light and light shows on the gloomy looking mountains. It was spectacular! (Not sure if I've ever used that word...)

It snowed.

The snow looked so cool today on the trees, thus being the picture for the day! Here is one of my favorite.

And hopefully your V-Day didn't make you feel like this:

Snow is Fun

Today I went snowboarding at Winter Park. I opted out of taking the camera for obvious reasons but did find an interesting angle of the board when I took it out of the bag to dry with lots of cool reflections. Snow Rocks, and so does snowboarding with John.

The Mountains Disappeared!

Today I enjoyed watching the snow come in and hide the Mountains. Moments later, the mountains reappeared again. I thought I would try to catch a snowflake and snow the mountains gone.

Totally unrelated, but holding a baby is the best thing ever.

Wishing for a Snow Night

I'm dreaming of a night where it will be snowing and i'm not working! So here's to that hopeful night that i'm hoping will come soon. I hope to be putting another snow night picture that's at a whole new level soon, here's a quick snapshot. (And I just realized I posted the Low-Resolution star picture and I shot in Raw tonight so this is a basic jpeg as well. Once the Raw file is converted I'll switch it!)

Snow!

The snow today was amazing. It consisted of a couple of inches of dry, dry, snow that sparkled so incredibly! Abbey and I were taking care of a cat this weekend for our friends and this shot came from their front steps.

Part of me doing this year long project is to track my progress in photography and to also start experimenting with different types of photography such as no-flash, and low-light. This picture is one of those.
