Road Trip West Day 7 (Ventura, CA)

Our first full day in Ventura, CA we went to Play it Again Sports to pick up a wetsuit for muah. We found a wetsuit for $30, a pretty good deal! While I was prancing around like a ballerina, Annie & Kevin purchased Doyle, the newest member of the family. A bright red soft-top surfboard. Super awesome! We headed to the beach and they taught me how to boogie board and surf! I felt super cool surfing the waves. After 5+ hours in the ocean, we went to Mary's Secret Garden, a Vegan Restaurant, specializing in Raw Food. We indulged ourselves to the max, for sure.

Soul Horkey

Simply put, the Soul Horkey from Trinity Brewing Company is the best beer I've ever had. It's delicious, vegan, local, and brewed by happy people! Below is Trinity's 64 oz Growler, which is a refillable bottle that at this moment is full of delicious stuff.
Description:
"...simple, yet complex. This ale showcases malts of caramel and chocolates."
and the wonderful quote that is posted with this beer both on the menu and website is:
"The inner life force of all beings, the I AM, that WAS before and always will BE, watching, from the seat of the soul, this mind and this body."

Check it out if you're in the Springs. It's off of Garden of the Gods Road and Centennial. Great food, fun atmosphere, Great Beer.

Garlic Rocks!

We have some friends that used to be in the Garlic Butter business. They are reopening and had us over for a taste testing tonight of some Vegan Garlic Butter. I can't describe how incredible it was! It's late and I was tired from a day of climbing so I snapped a quick shot of this delectable creation. This stuff is unbelievable, it's good on bruschetta, pasta, sauteed veggies, in anything! I can't wait for them to be fully operational so you all can buy this stuff. Hands down, amazing. I'll post a link once the website is up! Fun fact: China produces over 23 billion pounds of Garlic every year! That's a lot of smelly breath! So here's to garlic:
