interesting house

I've wanted to take pictures of this house for months now; they have a lamp outside with 5 different colored bulbs. sometime I'll take a proper exposure of it, for now I thought these came out pretty cool as 'drive-by' pics.

Snowy Photoshoot

Today I did a photoshoot for a family at Garden of the Gods. This day was the best match for both of us. However about an hour before the shoot I started to worry because of the weather. It was snowing like crazy, but not sticking: basically a wet mess everywhere, with nothing to show for it. However as our meeting time came nearer, the snow began to stick creating the prettiest scene i've ever seen at Garden of the Gods. Everything coated by an inch of fluffy snow! Here were a few of my favorite from the day:

The snow did pose a challenge as far as interference with people's face. I was using a 1/60th shutter speed for the majority of the shoot, however I did play around with some faster speeds to try to eliminate streaks from the snow. It was pretty much inevitable however with a bunch of exposures, a few came out really nice. If you haven't taken portraits in the snow, you should try ASAP, it's totally awesome!
