upside down
I woke up this morning wanting to take pictures upside down. The thought then occured that I could just as easily flip pictures upside down, intitial reaction: super bummed. Final result: I did it anyway! 2 of these I flipped, the green bowl speaker and the one shot throught the grass. The other two were bonafide upside down pictures. The idea was to take pictures of things that might not be immediately distinguished as upside down, or things that look better upside down. I'm going to experiment with this more. I did some of this with film in High School with more interesting results than today, but It's a lot of fun to have people looking at you in public when you're shooting bent over with your head between your legs. Awkward, and I like it.

show
this is a picture of a show i've been watching on DVD, 'how I met your mother'. A friend loanded it to me for the week while Abbey is gone, and it's been 3 days, watched the whole darn season, all 22 episodes... It's a funny show, you should check it out, literally.
I had a lot of fun taking this picture. It's kind of like taking pictures at an event, or of children; you have to wait and anticipate the right moment to snap the picture. I'm thinking about using this as a tool to work on speed and intuition with capturing moments.

A little G of the G
Looking North at the Spires
S-Curve from road. bottom right to very top-left. More like a squiggly than a s-curve....
um, not sure what this one is. I'll have to look it up.
"It's a Rocky Mountain Big-Horn Deer!" >>I love tourists! Big-Horn Sheep. There were 3 of them while I was watching.
This wasn't from Garden of the Gods, it was the King Sooper Parking Lot on Uintah.

Long day.
Abbey and I at the airport before she left to California.
A half-second hand-held exposure while driving 75mph, watching the sunrise on the way to the airport.
My saturday night, rock band, oh and I sang.

a long walk
Here's a summary of the pics: One of those little seed things was flying around, I caught it in a box and spent about 5 minutes trying to get a in-focus shot while it was flying around the box. I put some paper on top of the AC unit to blow through the air. I took a walk home and saw some cool stuff, a nice little stream, a flower, a morel mushroom, some white cap mushrooms, a little bike path, a sign that basically said yes to dogs, bicycles, and walkers, but no rifles and motorcycles.

Wind and a Bear
At work there is a painted bear statue. Today he and I had a meeting. The wind was blowing and I had my Harmonica on me. The idea: to take a photo that showed that the wind was blowing. I set a greater depth of field to show the harmonica and the blowing plants in the background. With a slower shutter speed, there was partial movement blur from the plant. The harmonica was to represent wind also, as a harmonica takes wind to produce noise.
